In 2005, Rajendra Ghorpade was elected as a corporator from Badlapur ward. In 2005, he was elected to the Badlapur ward for the first time. He is currently serving his third term as corporator as of 2014. His government won a confidence motion by voice vote in 2005 and allowing it to govern. Rajendra Ghorpade is the president of the Kulgaon-Badlapur Council.

Rajendra Ghorpade educated from institute` (Adarsh Vidya Mandir, a 50 years old educational institute in Badlapur, founded by the late Mr. Agaskar and Mr. Ghorpade with founder members, serving as a major educational backbone of the city) is now the Mayor of Badlapur.

"If there is education, there will be everything in life. Your homes can brighten up only if your children are educated. I am fident that if we focus on education, our society will certainly develop."
